Reduction of Artifacts Caused byTranslational and Rotational

چکیده
| We present a new projection reconstruction magnetic resonance (MR) imaging sequence for the correction of artifacts caused by transla-tional and/or rotational rigid motion. We performed brain imaging during which a volun-teer's head was moving in a combined translational and rotational rigid way. The MR signals were ordered in an interleaved way in order to reduce the motion sensitivity drastically. By using an original motion-determination technique, it was possible to determine the limited number of MR signals being distorted by motion with an accuracy of one repetition time. These signals were modiied in order to correct for the translational and rotational motion that was present during the signal acquisition by calculating the translational shift and rotation angle of the object. Finally, it was possible to calculate a modiied raw-data set that contained only very small distortions caused by motion. In conclusion, motion parameters are extracted from the measured raw data and used to calculate a set of raw data. By using the latter raw data set, it is possible to reconstruct the corresponding MR image containing no relevant motion artifacts.

Artifact reduction techniques in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) imaging modality
Introduction: Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) was introduced and became more common based on its low cost, fast image procedure rate and low radiation dose compared to CT. This imaging modality improved diagnostic and treatment-planning procedures by providing three-dimensional information with greatly reduced level of radiation dose compared to 2D dental imaging modalitie...

Introduction: Metal-supported porcelain crowns (MSPC) and bridge restorations may be present in the mouths of patients undergoing CBCT imaging. Artifacts that are caused by these MSPCs may adversely affect image quality. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of different FOV (field of view) and localization in FOV on metal artifacts caused by MSPC. Methods:</...

The cooling of molecules during the adiabatic expansion of supersonic seeded molecular beams is reviewed and illustrated by the example of NO -molecules. The reduction of the Doppler width by collimation of the beam and the cooling to low rotational temperatures brings a significant simplification of the complex NO -absorption spectrum and allows its assignment. The measured rotational tem...
